Nick Brown is a military veteran and has been a career Firefighter/Paramedic for over 15 years. He served 5 years as a US Navy Hospital Corpsman attached to Marine Corps infantry platoons . His service included multiple deployments in the West Pacific on the USS Peleliu and during Operation Enduring Freedom - Afghanistan.

Since returning to civilian life, Nick has worked in a variety of first responder roles to include: Private ambulance EMT, Volunteer Firefighter, Special Event Medic. He has also been involved in Fire/EMS education for over 17 years.

Nick has a Bachelor’s Degree in Emergency Services Management with an emphasis in Organizational Leadership. He has obtained a Specialized certificates in Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) for Emergency Services and has received extensive training 100 hours of formal training in Peer Support and Crisis Intervention. He has served multiple years an active member & Peer Support Advocate on the North Tahoe-Truckee East Side Regional CISM team and has facilitated multiple critical incident stress debriefings for first responders in the Tahoe area.

While in recovery from his own mental health challenges, Nick has built a strong awareness of the signs and symptoms of post traumatic stress and how it has affected his relationships with family and friends. Nick now specializes in First Responder Peer Support, and Strategic Response to Crisis for public safety agencies.
